Rollem, the UK manufacturer of print finishing machines has launched the Jetstream slitting and collating system.

The Jetstream is said to open added-value finishing options for digital print and card production.

The new Jetstream is claimed to offer printers with smaller presses the opportunity to enter the lucrative market place of specialist card production.

The system provides a finish that is suitable for playing cards, game cards, credit and phone cards, product cards and business cards, as well as CD inlays.

With a choice of feeders from hand-fed, through to deep pile air feed, there is a range of machine sizes for sheets from A5 through to B1 to suit printers with both larger and small press sizes, added the company.

The Jetstream is designed to automate those processes and compared with other finishing methods, the machine's set-up and change-over is said to be quick and easy.

With the recent handover of the running of the company to a new management team, directors, Stuart Murphy and Colin Pears - Rollem said it is moving forward with the presentation of a range of specialised products.

With a history going back to the 1930s Rollem believes its heritage lies in its quality engineering and manufacture of systems built to last.

The business is set to re-locate to new custom-built premises during 2007 and Rollem is now on the lookout for new distributors in the UK and Europe.

As Stuart Murphy, the company's managing director, said: "We are focused on taking Rollem forward with new machines designed, developed and built to address the finishing needs of todays' printing community.

Our machines are built for maximum recycling, representing our attitude towards the environment and sustainability." He added: "The trend for crafted, innovative quality finishing, driven by the demand of the end user and brand owner has altered the status of the finishing sector.

Printers and finishers are looking to us to provide sophisticated engineered systems designed to produce unique, perfectly finished print to suit multiple applications." And Murphy explained: "Printers in 2006 are searching for added value options and higher standards in an ever-increasing competitive marketplace.

With more and more applications requiring perfect perforation, slitting and creasing, the standard of the finished product can make all the difference.

High quality, full colour digital print requires perfect finishing with high quality, precision equipment.".
