Renaddress has launched the Rena 550S polybagger, a production wrapping system that is now claimed to be 25 per cent faster.

The new polybagger is claimed to automatically form bags directly from the roll and comes with a choice of one or two heavy duty automatic feeders - plus a hand feed station.

It is also claimed that no specialist operator is needed.

Cycling at a consistent speed of 3,000 A4 packs an hour the 550S is said to be suitable for most magazine projects.

Although claimed to be low-cost, the new machine handles materials from DL to A4 in size and can feed from a single sheet of paper up to a 10mm thick book, said Renaddress.

In-built double detect or miss functions are said to ensure the accuracy of each filled pack.

Equally, the hand feed station is fully integrated for automatic collation with the heavy duty automatic feeders and the PLC software ensures no bags are made if a product is not fed - so eliminating wastage and down time, added the company.

With an optional exit conveyor for automatic stacking or shingling and print registration for overprinted film the Rena 550S offers flexibility, said Renaddress.

The company believes that its new system for the first time in the UK offers a fully automatic, integrated polythene-wrapping facility, as a cost-effective option to polybagging.
