In announcements made in conjunction with the ICED and Sir Speedy and PIP Printing Conferences, RIPit is providing more information on the CTP systems it will release this autumn and at Print 05 RIPit chief executive officer Wayne Wasulko said that RIPit has a number of new products scheduled to roll out at Print 05 and through the first quarter of 2006

RIPit is the primary workflow and CTP provider to the majority of quick printers and franchises in North America.

Wasulko said: "We had early, rapid confirmation from the small and quick print market that we hit on the right product, price and quality mix with our Speedsetter Violet Metal CTP and OpenRIP Symphony workflow.

This kind of feedback bolstered our resolve to get the next most requested CTP format and workflow features in to development and out to the marketplace as quickly as possible." In addition to a new Speedsetter Violet Metal CTP system, the company will also soon unveil the addition of several features to the OpenRIP Symphony workflow.

RIPit said that customers are also reporting that other CTP providers remain unable to close the gap between the CTP system from RIPit and their own product lines.

Jeremy Mitchell, production manager at Sir Speedy Sarasota, said: "RIPit gives us an incredible, unbeatable package for an amazingly low cost of entry.

I'm pushing 2400 dots per inch (dpi) or 150 lines per inch (lpi) easy with OpenRIP Symphony, which comes with all the bells and whistles, including imposition, full-featured RIP, and always available tech support.

We're saving ink and saving money and at the same time giving our customers high end quality like they've never seen before." ICED executive Bob Metzger said: "OpenRIP Symphony offers solutions to a number of the challenges our franchise owners face.

The workflow is designed to help pre-press departments get the work out right, the first time.".
