Four-Up Violet CTP Debuts At Print '05
RIPit Computer Corp will debut a turnkey four-up violet metal CTP system at Print '05.
The VM4 is available immediately for a starting price of US$52,500.
No consumable contracts are required and customers can choose from a variety of plates for use with the Speedsetter, said RIPit.
Speedsetter VM4 is the big brother to the original Speedsetter VM, two-up violet metal CTP platemaker.
The VM4 was engineered using the same design principles as those applied to the Speedsetter VM.
The Speedsetter VM series systems are manually loaded and unloaded internal drum devices tightly integrated with the award-winning RIPit OpenRIP Symphony workflow and a photopolymer plate processor.
The workflow system is claimed to make printers more productive, whilst offering more production control.
OpenRIP Symphony is said to improve productivity and reduce human error by automating the most tedious and error-prone pre-press tasks.
It is claimed to automate screening settings, trapping, plate templating, imposition (including crop marks, registration marks, colour bars, and page information) and application of linearisation and dot gain compensation.
RIPit will also be exhibiting its Pro Poly 300 and 400 In-Line CTP systems that are claimed to allow printers to take control of customers' digital files and output high-resolution polyester plates, film and colour accurate proofs.
Pro Poly systems are driven by the OpenRIP Symphony workflow.
In addition to controlling almost 100 imagesetters, platesetters, printers and plotters natively, OpenRIP can also control a range of PostScript and TIFF-in devices from a single interface, said RIPit.
The 300 CTP Systems integrate a Speedsetter 300 or 300x2 imagesetter, whilst the 400 CTP Systems integrate a Speedsetter 400 imagesetter, a custom bridge and a hinged vastech plate processor.
RIPit Pro Poly CTP Systems are also available in a two-up portrait format.
Wayne Wasulko, RIPit's president and founder, said: "We are very excited to show the newest and most popular CTP and RIP workflows at Graphics of the Americas.
All indicators show that demand for truly affordable, high-quality systems will continue in 2006, especially amongst small to mid-sized printers.
They need the most bang for the buck, and RIPit products are engineered specifically to give budget-conscious printers exactly that.".
