The Revive 50:50 one-sided board is an FSC-accredited mixed source grade containing 50 per cent recovered fibre and 50 per cent virgin fibre.

Part of the Revive family of environmental products, Revive 50:50 one-sided board has a smooth-coated surface with a lick-coated reverse, making it suitable for multi-colour print and for greetings cards, book covers, folders and brochure covers, for instance.

The range will initially comprise 290gsm and 310gsm in 720mm x 1,020mm and 520mm x 720mm.

Robert Horne, which has launched the product, said it has done so because of growing environmental pressures from commercial and social factors.

The company added that demand for environmentally-friendly boards has never been greater and publishers, in particular those of greetings cards, are increasingly in the spotlight of pressure groups to make their product more environmentally-conscious.

The company said that to answer the need for an environmentally-sound alternative to traditional one-sided boards, Revive 50:50 one-sided has been developed.

Ann-Marie Holdsworth, merchandising manager for the Robert Horne Group, explained: "Research has shown a real demand for environmental coated one-sided boards that are comparable with virgin fibre products in quality and price.

We firmly believe that this FSC-accredited recycled product will be a major player in unlocking this niche and will really help bring environmental boards in to the mainstream of the greetings card sector and commercial print.".
