Robert Horne supplies paper for Xmas catalogue

Elite UK grocer Fortnum and Mason's catalogue will be dazzling at Christmas, according to paper firm Robert Horne, which supplied its Heaven 42 stock on which the book has been printed.

Robert Horne said that the new catalogue showcases Fortnum and Mason's products against a snow-white background, which meant that stock quality was key to achieving a luxurious appearance and feel.

Commenting on the choice of Heaven 42 paper, Helen Llewelyn, from design company Proletariat, said: 'As Fortnum and Mason's Christmas theme was 'The Snow Queen', I was searching for a stock that was as white as an uncoated paper.

'However, I was looking for a coated sheet to make sure that the food photography looked at its absolute best.

'I also needed a stock that would be compatible with digital and litho print, as well being suitable for laser cutting.

'In Heaven 42, we found the compatibility and the absolute whiteness we required.' Heaven 42 was launched earlier this year and is claimed to be the first absolute-white coated paper with a soft matt finish.

It is available in weights of 115gsm to 300gsm and in most popular printing sizes.

Robert Horne said that the catalogues were printed by Print Logic and the stock had excellent runability, with optimum drying times and rub resistance.

The grade is also FSC-certified.

Graham Cottrell from Printlogic Bespoke Services said: 'We initially produced test proofs for the cover to ensure the laser cutting required proved successful.

'The printing of the catalogue was produced on our Heidelberg Speedmaster SM102 B1 12 Colour Perfector to ensure the highest quality finish and maintain the best colour consistency possible.

'The PUR binding was done on a Muller Martini Bolero B8 binding line, the entire production being manufactured under one roof.'.
