Ricoh has launched the FW770 and FW780 wide format copiers, capable of producing high quality 1:1 copies of virtually any format up to and including A0.
First 60ppm-75ppm Copier-Printers From Ricoh.
What are claimed to be the first 60ppm and 75-ppm copier-printers to simultaneously scan both sides of an original from an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) are now available in the UK from Ricoh.
The company's existing Xerox printer could not handle that requirement, so it started to look for alternatives.
A key problem was that the nature of the stock had stacking problems when tried on various printers.
Anacomp, as the digital print maintenance provider, was asked to recommend a suitable printer to handle the work.
After in-house testing of the paper stock, Anacomp recommended the Ricoh DDP92 fitted with a Container Stacker.
"The 92 page per minute printer had no problems in handling the size of paper stock without loss of speed and the Ricoh Container Stacker proved more than capable of outputting the finished work," said Duncan Sargeant, printer business development manager of Anacomp.
Initially the printer was installed at the customer's site on a one month trial basis.
Marshall Haldane of ID Data said: "We were very pleased with the success of the trial period and subsequently placed an order.
The quality of the equipment surpassed all expectations." In the four months since installation, ID Data has printed in excess of 4.2 million impressions, exceeding even the manufacturer's expectations.
The success of the Ricoh DDP92 and the reliability of the printer's productivity, with Anacomp providing round the clock maintenance charged on a usage only basis, has led to the removal of an old production printer previously in use at the site.
