Five Ricoh print devices and one digital duplicator have received awards in the Buyer's Laboratory (BLI) pick awards, bi-annual awards.

The awards give special recognition to products that perform best in the company's laboratory testing over the course of three months.

Ricoh's Aficio MP 3500 won the segment three multi-functional device (MFD) award and was commended for its image quality, productivity and reliability.

The Aficio MP C2500 was selected in the colour MFD category, with the judges highlighting it as one of the lowest-priced business colour devices on the market with excellent performance levels.

The Aficio SP C410DN was commended for its outstanding economy, thorough utilities and admirable print quality as it won the colour printer category.

Furthermore, the Aficio MP 7500 MFD earned its award in the segment five category because of its reliable engine, whilst the overall performance of the Priport HQ9000 won Ricoh the outstanding digital duplicator award.

Ricoh's range of colour printers collectively took home BLI's most prestigious award, line of the year, for the second year running.

Marlene Orr, senior printer analyst at BLI, said: "Ricoh offers high quality printers in every category of the business.

These devices are easy to use, set up and manage on the network, thanks to Ricoh's outstanding utilities.

Ricoh colour printers not only offer high toner and ink yields, which translate in to decreased downtime and low cost per page but they offer robust paper-handling capabilities." Chas Moloney, associate director marketing at Ricoh, commented: "Ricoh prides itself on the level of research and development that goes in to each and every launch and we are delighted to see an independent report acknowledge the strength of our products.

We are well aware that security and print costs are amongst our customers' highest priorities when it comes to print devices, which is why our innovation strives to address them." Last year Ricoh was identified as manufacturing four of the five top performing and most environmentally-friendly mono MFDs in an independent report by market research consultancy, Winmark.

Winmark has recently been acquired by BLI.
