World's First Duplex Digital Duplicator From Ricoh
What is claimed to be the world's first duplex digital duplicator will be introduced by Ricoh at this year's Digital Print World exhibition.
The Priport DX4640PD, according to the company, has been developed to offer fast, low-cost performance and is capable of producing up to 240 A4 prints per minute (ppm).
The network-ready Priport DX4640PD makes high volume double sided printing a continuous process and saves time and money in the process.
Ricoh said it is also set to bolster its wide format printing systems range with the addition of two devices.
The Aficio MP W2400 and MP W3600 have been developed to provide copy shops and CRDs with a system to enhance the production and distribution of wide format jobs.
Both new machines are supplied with an 80Gb hard drive, enabling users to reproduce documents without needing to re-feed sometimes irreplaceable originals, added the company.
In addition to the new wide format and digital duplicator devices, Ricoh added that it will increase the range of print controllers available for use with its high volume devices.
Customers using the Aficio MP 9000 / 1100 / 1350 family of mono devices (offering claimed speeds of 90ppm, 110ppm and 135ppm, respectively) will be able to select one of three controllers, depending on the application they require.
Those options now include an embedded entry-level controller, the Fiery EB-135, which offers extended print performance and job queue monitoring for printing of Adobe PostScript files, complex graphics and variable data output, said RIcoh.
At Digital Print World, Ricoh will also be showing EFI's Micropress 7, a production workflow server, which automates order production, negating the need for manual booklet creation, insertion of tabs or collation of documents.
Ricoh has formed partnerships with a number of professional print providers over the past 12 months, which the company said are now bringing new systems to the market.
In April, Ricoh began to offer Objectif Lune's Planetpress Suite to its customers and in June, the company joined forces with Morgana to offer offline finishing systems.
Last month Ricoh announced the availability of EFI's Digital Storefront to provide web-to-print functions.
During the summer, Ricoh will also unveil Docuform's Mercury software for data conversion.
Chas Moloney, director of marketing for Ricoh UK and Ireland, said: "Ricoh has made significant inroads in to the professional print market over the past 18 months and these latest announcements will ensure that we maintain this momentum.".
