Ricoh Promotes High Volume Print At Drupa 2008
Ricoh will emphasise its printers for high volume production at the Drupa 2008 exhibition, including new models added to the Pro series and the new AficioMP 7140W, mono multifunction system.
The new Pro C900 and C900s are said to provide print speeds of up to 90 pages per minute (ppm) in full colour, even when printing on heavy stock.
It includes the latest Ricoh image processing and Fiery RIP.
Ricoh said that the printer offers flexible options for the type of substrates that can be used, supporting large format up to SRA3 size and heavy stock up to 300gsm.
A range of in-line finishing devices includes a ring binder, perfect binder, Plockmatic booklet maker and GBC punch unit.
Visitors to Drupa 2008 will also see the Pro906EX, 1106EX and 1356EX multi-functional mono printers.
Ricoh said that the systems have been built to accelerate the production workflow at an optimal total cost of ownership.
The Pro906EX, 1106EX and 1356EX come with a portfolio of in-line finishing options.
The Pro906EX and 1106EX are aimed specifically at large workgroups and reprographic environments, with the Pro1356EX designed for central reprographics departments and print-for-pay operations.
The heavy duty Pro 906EX, 1106EX and 1356EX are claimed to attain print speeds of 90ppm, 110ppm and 135ppm, respectively.
Two devices can be connected with each other to reach 270ppm.
With up to nine paper stations, all with SRA3 capability, the machines' maximum capacity is 8,500 sheets.
Meanwhile the monochrome output quality is said to be 1,200 dots per inch (dpi) x 1,200dpi due to two four-beam laser technology.
The AficioMP W714 that will be seen at Drupa 2008 is Ricoh's new mono multi-function printer that is claimed to be able to produce up to 14 A1 and seven A0ppm.
A detachable colour scanner is said to ensure the digital distribution of documents.
Ricoh said that the device is intended for general office use and for print-for-pay operations, as well as central reprographic departments at large manufacturers.
According to Ricoh, the Aficio MP W7140 prints and copies at 600dpi resolution and its warm-up time is less than two minutes.
The company added that the machine's first output speed at A1 format is less than 10 seconds.
The MP W7140 is also claimed to handle paper formats between 182mm x 210mm and 914mm x 30,000mm.
Two standard roll feeders and a one-sheet bypass tray can be enhanced with an extra two optional roll feeders and two 250-sheet paper cassettes for maximum input.
The company's DDP 184 system will also be on show at Drupa 2008.
Ricoh said that the system is one of the fastest duplex cut-sheet printers on the market.
Said to be designed for high-volume printing and fast throughput the DDP 184 features an industrial engine and duplex printing.
It is equipped with two production ready engines and it offers print speeds up to 184 images per minute (ipm) in duplex mode.
Ricoh added that the DDP 184 is spot colour capable and produces highlight colour documents when colour developer and toner are added and the system is suitable for any high volume printing environment.
The Aficio MP C6000SP and MP C7500SP colour multi-function systems that will be seen at Drupa are claimed to feature speeds of 70ppm for full-colour and 75ppm for mono production.
The devices are said by Ricoh to be suitable for central reprographics departments and commercial print shops, as well as graphic houses seeking to augment their current printing services.
Modular and able to be upgraded, the MP C6000SP and MP C7500SP are colour printing systems that create documents with finishing options, such as stapling, booklet finishing and hole punching.
Drupa will also see Ricoh's Priport HQ9000 digital duplicator for high-volume printing.
It is claimed to be able to handle up to 250,000 sheets per month at a low total cost of ownership.
The HQ9000 has a claimed print speed of 135ppm for A4 and 120ppm for A3 documents, whilst its output is produced at 600dpi x 600dpi.
The HQ9000 handles a variety of paper stock, including envelopes, cards and NCR in weights from 47gsm to 210gsm.
The interactive touchscreen is said to simplify operation and the HQ9000 also connects with any stand-alone computer or network operation.
It also has an optional PostScript 3 module.
Ricoh commented that at Drupa, the industry's first duplexing digital duplicator, the Priport DX 4640PD will be on show.
The company said that the machine is engineered to provide large volumes of two-sided output.
Users can complete large jobs quickly with output speeds of up to 120ppm for two-sided A4 documents, or 240ipm.
Single-sided documents have output speeds of up to 135ppm.
Users can store frequently duplicated documents on the hard drive for instant reprints and can maximise efficiency as the DX 4640PD can also serve as a network printer or copier.
The EMP 156 from Ricoh is a monochrome printer that is said to be designed to meet rigorous production printing requirements.
Its innovative cut-sheet engine design incorporates Ricoh's paper handling technology.
and it is claimed to print up to 4.5 million pages per month and stacks up to 9,500 sheets for unattended runs.
