Roland DG has launched its Soljet solvent-based wide-format six-colour ink-jet printer-cutter.

Roland DG has launched its Soljet solvent-based wide-format six-colour ink-jet printer-cutter.

By offering both printing and cutting in a single machine, it offers versatility and productivity combined with photo-realistic wide-format printing and the ability to contour-cut.

The Soljet outputs in six colours of CMYK, plus light cyan and light magenta, producing high fidelity photo-realistic results at resolutions up to 1440dpi.

Users can choose the optimum print mode for the job being produced from a broad range of output resolutions.

As well as the ability to output onto a range of vinyls, banner materials, backlit film and other conformable media, the Soljet also features a special overprint feature for users wanting to print onto fabrics.

The automatic sheet cutter is complemented by a choice of three head heights for printing onto materials up to 0.099cm in thickness.

Compatible with industry-standard RIPs, Soljet is supplied with Roland ColorChoice, an Adobe PostScript 3 multi-platform production software which enables users to control printing directly for most Windows and Macintosh applications.

Setup is quick and easy via the bi-directional parallel port.
