Grand Format Inkjet Printer's Artistic Production
Seven high-resolution giant billboards have been produced on a for London (UK) artist Matthew Stone by Roland Advanced Jet AJ-1000 2.6 metre grand-format inkjet printer.
The Roland printer at Daytona Visual produced the work to support Matthew Stone's first solo art debut.
The series of prints included 'David and Goliath after Caravaggio' and 'Optimism as cultural rebellion', which are part of his 'Future Hindsight' art exhibition at the Union Gallery in Southwark, London.
Daytona Visual used Roland Advanced Jet AJ-1000 to create the contemporary collection of photographic images - some of which were up to 6 x 4 metres - that were produced on blue back paper.
The billboards were created as 'one-offs' specifically for the event and posted directly on to the gallery walls.
The Advanced Jet AJ-1000 industrial grand-format printer is claimed to be engineered for high-volume production of banners, billboards, signage and other durable graphics.
Roland DG said the machine is one of the fastest and most advanced grand-format printers in the market.
The company said that the AJ-1000 achieves a maximum production speed of 90 square metres per hour.
Featuring Eco-Xtreme ink, the AJ-1000 provides dense, rich colours and a gamut that ensures consistent prints for close and distant viewing.
The AJ-1000 also offers an optional mesh printing unit to support standard and back mesh materials.
Daytona Visual's Andy Wassall commented: "A crucial element in the production of these artwork billboards was the fact that they were to be viewed close-up in a gallery, so they required a much higher resolution and colour accuracy than regular street advertising billboards, which normally have a viewing distance of 30 metres or more.
So, we chose the machine we knew would produce the highest quality prints for our client - our Roland Advanced Jet AJ-1000 roll-to-roll grand format digital printer." He continued: "We've been in the visual imaging business for over 25 years and we always strive to truly understand our customers' requirements.
As we have a reputation for delivering quality imaging it's critical we consistently invest in the best printing technology.
Our 2.6-metre Roland machine was perfect for producing Matthew Stone's stunning images and continues to deliver excellent results for all our other clients." Andy Wassall also explained that the Roland AJ-1000 is Daytona Visual's third machine from Roland: "This machine was purchased on the strength of Roland's print reliability, colour accuracy, consistent quality, service and support.
After investing in our first Roland machine, we found the company and, in particular, its head of sales James Hobday, to have a high degree of integrity coupled with extensive market experience.
Partnerships such as these are invaluable in this industry." James Hobday, head of sales at Roland DG said: "The Roland Advanced Jet AJ-1000 is a versatile grand-format printing machine.
Its ability to help Daytona Visual recreate Matthew Stone's artwork demonstrates not only superior image quality but also a natural capability for producing extremely high-resolution visual work.
The AJ-1000 is the ideal system for fast production printing and offers print and creative organisations the opportunity of producing high-volume print work, along with specialised production pieces dependent on client requirements." Matthew Stone added: "I chose Daytona Visual to reproduce my work as giant posters because it has the knowledge, understanding and technical ability to produce the high print quality and colour accuracy I needed.
Regular billboard production quality would be nowhere near good enough for the exhibition images I required.".
