Claimed to provide to provide colour density, a wide gamut and durability, the new Ecoxtreme LT inks for Advancedjet inkjet printers from Roland DG is also said to be cost-effective.

Roland DG (UK) which provides wide-format inkjet printers and integrated print-cutters, has introduced the new inks, as well as the 104 inch-wide AJ-1000 and 74 inch-wide AJ-740 printers.

The company said that is now also supports the Advancedjet line with two ink formulations the Ecoxtreme LT and Ecoxtreme.

Ecoxtreme LT is said to be competitively priced and suitable for high-mix, high-volume production of short-term graphics, such as event and campaign signage, trade show and expo graphics, as well as temporary retail displays.

Roland said it recommends Ecoxtreme ink for signage, banners, retail decor, fleet graphics and other applications that need extended durability of up to three years outdoors.

Ecoxtreme LT ink is available in six colours (CMYK and LcLm), is said to be appropriate for billboards, banners, backlit displays, temporary fleet graphics and event signage and is said by the company to optimise Advancedjet technology for claimed vivid images and colour contrast.

At the same time, the ink is claimed to produce vibrant images, even in high-speed production modes on coated and uncoated media and it is supplied in one-litre cartridges that are said to be easy to handle.

The company also said there is an automated maintenance system that minimises operator intervention for lower operational costs and the inks are cyclohexanone free.

Designed for high-volume printing and rush jobs of billboards, banners, fleet and vehicle graphics, Roland DG said that the Advancedjet provides six-colour CMYK and LcLm graphics at a maximum print speed of 90 square metres per hour (968 square feet per hour) and offers a precision print mode of 45 square metres per hour (484 square feet per hour).

Roland DG added that, unlike other industrial printers, the Advancedjet runs with minimal operator maintenance and fine tuning.

Automated maintenance eliminates the need for daily manual cleanings and ensures consistent, reliable performance.

The Advancedjet includes Roland's Versaworks RIP software, built on an Adobe PostScript engine and it is compatible with Windows XP Professional, 2000 and Windows Vista.
