A Roland DG product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Mar 15, 2010

Roland DG (UK) will exhibit and demonstrating the full range of its latest production hardware at this year's Sign and Digital UK exhibition.

Among the company's highlights will be the first European showing of the all-new Versacamm VS-640 printer-cutter.

This printer is claimed to expand its users' commercial and creative horizons and grow their markets.

With the system's media-handling system, the printer is said to satisfy the volume needs of the busiest print shops.

At 64in wide, it tackles the biggest jobs too, said Roland DG.

The Versacamm VS-640 is also said to have the ability to print with genuine metallic ink.

Alongside the new Versacamm VS-640 will be Roland DG's Addvancedjet, VersaUV, Soljet Pro III and the full range of Versacamm systems.

The Roland DG Academy will provide valuable training and seminars on such topics as workflow management using Signlab and Roland's Versaworks, colour management, including spot colour reproduction, monitor calibration, and finishing techniques, such as lamination.

Application techniques for providing cost-savings and production efficiencies will be taught as well as creative ideas and essential skills.

The academy will also run a business management masterclass in conjunction with CIMA, which is designed to explain the rules of business while showing how to succeed in producing a profit and generating cash.

Representatives from CIMA will also be on hand to answer questions and provide business tools, ideas and advice.

The Roland Creative Centre at Sign and Digital UK will demonstrate how digital print, engraving and 3D technology can be used to produce marketable products and create new streams of revenue.

Sabur Ink Systems will demonstrate Roland's Versa Art RS-640 wide format dye sublimation system in producing various items, such as soft signage, clothing and floor mats.

Xpres will demonstrate its Gemtec system for garment rhinestone customisation, as well as cut and applied textile garment films for producing single and multi-coloured vinyl transfers in a range of colours and finishes.

The company's stand will also feature Rolandcare.
