Digital Print Firm's Award Rewards Its Methods
The Digital Printer Company of the Year award has been won by RPM Print and Design, which was described as providing a model of doing business in the modern way in print.
RPM said that it resisted competition from companies from all over Europe to win the award, which was also presented because of the firm's 'outstanding approach to customer relationships', according to the judges.
The Chichester (UK) company has won three awards which, it said, has helped to consolidate its position as one of the leading digital printing companies in the UK and Europe.
Mark Rushton, the award's judge, commented: "RPM thoroughly deserves this title.
After visiting printers throughout the UK and Europe RPM really stood out because of its outstanding approach to customer relationships and its specialism in the growing self-publishing sector.
This company not only markets itself dynamically to potential authors, it also guides them through typesetting, design, production and then, most importantly, it extends the relationship through to helping them to market their books." He continued: "This is a classic example of a company doing business in the modern way in print, which is to partner with customers from design and production to delivery and beyond." Jonathan Harry, RPM's managing director, said: "It is an honour to be chosen as the digital printer company of the year.
The team at RPM has worked hard to achieve this and it is a fitting reward for all their efforts and their commitment to our customers." RPM, which specialises in litho, digital and large format printing, has also won recognition in a worldwide award, for printing innovation in the Xerox Imaging Awards (PIXI) 2007, which drew 500 entries from across the world.
The award recognised excellence and innovation in digital printing applications and RPM carried off that title for its production of personalised novels.
The company has also just been awarded ISO9001 for providing a consistently high level of service to fulfil customer satisfaction and process performance.
RPM, a family firm which has been established for over 30 years, provides a range of services, including book printing, direct mail, digital personalisation, poster production, point of sale material and architectural plans, newsletters, brochures, information packs and catalogue production.
RPM was also commended for its in-house design team.
Jonathan Harry added: "This ends a tremendous year for us and gives us a head start going in to 2008.
Printing is a tough business and we are now competing in world markets.
To stay ahead of the competition and grow our business, I believe it is essential to continually invest in equipment and staff, find better and different ways of doing things, create and develop new opportunities and consistently deliver a high level of service to our customers.
Winning this award demonstrates that we are committed to doing all these things and are succeeding in delivering what we promise.".
