Among the industry chief executives who will address the meeting are: Martin Anson, president of Bindagraphics; Robert Brown, chief executive officer of Goss International; James Dunn, president and chief executive officer of Heidelberg USA; Kenneth Garner, president of United Litho and Robert Holloman, president of Holloman Group.
Also present will be Werner Naegeli, president and chief executive officer of Muller Martini USA, Chris Pape, president of Monroe Litho and William Woods, president and chief executive officer of EPI Companies.
The R and E Council said its annual bindery seminar provides post-press executives and employees the opportunity to learn how to maximise operations performance.
The 2005 event will be chaired by Dr Twyla J Cummings, vice president of the R and E Council and director of graduate programmes at the Rochester Institute of Technology School of Print Media.
The meeting will feature speakers representing printers, trade binders, publishers, manufacturers, educators and consultants and will focus on both mechanical and digital productivity issues.
The R and E Council said that among the meeting highlights will be a keynote address by Frank Romano, Rochester Institute of Technology professor emeritus, whose presentation will be on 'The Re-invention of the Printing Company'.
In addition, speakers from Action Printing, Brown Printing, R R Donnelley, Life Touch Yearbook, Monroe Litho, Rex Three, and Quad Graphics will discuss how they have solved binding, finishing and distribution problems in their plants.
Seminar fees for NAPL members who register before February 23 are $550 for the first registrant and $500 for additional registrants (non-members - $650 for first registrant; $600 for additional registrants).
A $50 per head registration fee would have to be added doe people applying after February 23.
