Arrangements are now complete for the 2005 R and E Council of NAPL Digital Smart Factory Forum, to be held at the Fontainebleau Hilton Resort in Miami, Florida (USA) from June 15-17.
The 2005 Digital Smart Factory Forum will include a keynote address by Barb Pellow, the chief marketing officer and vice president of the Eastman Kodak Graphic Communications Group.
In addition, executives from Action Printing, Classic Graphics, R R Donnelley and Sons, Fort Dearborn Company, Great Lakes Integrated, Johns Byrne, LAgraphico, La Vigne, Rex Three, and St Ives USA will describe their utilisation of digital smart factory concepts in day-to-day workflows.
The 2005 R and E Council of NAPL Digital Smart Factory Forum will be chaired by Charles R Gehman, the director of product Marketing at EFI.
In announcing the forum programme, R and E Council managing director Ronald L Mihills commented: "With the broad acceptance of the JDF specification by equipment and software manufacturers, printers and publishers are now able to automate the print production process, and move further toward computer integrated manufacturing in the printing industry.
Still, automation technologies must be implemented differently by each individual company.
"The 2005 Digital Smart Factory Forum - the seventh in a continuing annual conference series - will bring together the foremost thinkers in the field for a thorough discussion of the issues that will determine how printing computer integrated manufacturing is being implemented and how the process is likely to evolve.
The specialised programme, with speakers from every corner of the industry, is sure to benefit everyone concerned with printing.
Printers, in particular, should be represented at the forum as a means of preparing for the future." The Digital Smart Factory Forum will immediately follow the EFI Connect 2005 Users Conference, and attendees are invited to attend the closing session of that meeting at no charge.
Registration information for the 2005 Digital Smart Factory Forum is available at the NAPL website.
