A Streamfeeder product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Oct 3, 2005

Visitors to the Streamfeeder stand at Print '05 in Chicago (USA) expressed the need to drive down production costs, whilst increasing throughput, as well as the desire to offer value-added services.

Visitors to the Streamfeeder stand at Print '05 in Chicago (USA) expressed a number of common themes, including the need to drive down production costs, whilst increasing throughput, as well as the desire to offer value-added services.

Streamfeeder exhibited a variety of systems demonstrating automated packaging of printed materials.

"The systems and related services shown on our stand generated a lot of excitement," said Michael Newcome, eastern region packaging and graphics sales manager for Streamfeeder.

"The attendees responded very well to the peace of mind provided by our proven feeding technology and our turnkey host system integration, installation and training services," he added.

Streamfeeder exhibited a Retail Stationery Kit line.

The line created a complete stationery retail pack that included a chipboard backer, cover sheet and batch-counted stationery sheets.

The line was configured with two SV-1200 Servo Series feeders and dispensers with XTR batch accumulating and dropping, two ST-1450 Pro Series feeders and dispensers, a modular transport conveyor and all integrated to an automatic form, fill and seal shrink wrapping system.

The system was controlled by Streamfeeder's proprietary Feednet communications software.

A Promotional Materials Kit line collated a variety of printed and bound materials, including a jacketed CD, for insertion in to a pocket presentation folder.

The materials were dispensed from six ST-1250 Pro Series feeders and dispensers in to a modular transport conveyor.

The line was controlled by Feednet.

A Printed Materials Packaging line demonstrated how to automate the process of batch counting and wrapping for storage, delivery or fulfillment services.

The line featured two XT-1200 accumulator-droppers that counted, accumulated and then dropped tri-folded promotional literature on to a transport conveyor.

The conveyor transferred the stack to an integrated high-speed automatic continuous-motion shrink wrapping system.

The entire line was monitored by Streamfeeder's Streamnet communications software.

According to the company, demand for mailing and fulfillment services also demonstrated a strong and growing presence at the show.

Doug Schulz, Streamfeeder's mailing and graphics sales manager, said: "The continued presence of a mailing and fulfillment pavilion reflects the growing need in the industry to provide value-added services.

Many attendees at the show made mailing and fulfillment a target destination during their visits.

Streamfeeder added to the mailing and fulfillment presence by exhibiting a variety of automation systems." The Quickwrap polybag wrapping system dispensed and collated a magazine, two on-serts, and an addressed top sheet.

The set was then automatically wrapped in to a sealed polybag ready for mailing.

Also demonstrated on the stand was a Converge 900 tip-on system.

Designed to tip-on, or affix products to carrier pieces at high speeds, the Converge 900 was integrated to a six-foot vacuum transport, a hot-melt glue applicator system and an exit conveyor.

The system also featured the Autostream M2 bulk product loading system with an optional roller alignment registration table.
