Scitex Vision, the industrial digital and colour inkjet printing manufacturer of has announced a new organisational structure for its emerging business in the packaging and rigid display markets.
Itai Halevy, executive vice president and chief marketing officer said: "During 2003 we have succeeded, with the help of our customers, to position the Scitex Vision Corjet digital press as the leading system for printing rigid graphic displays and short run corrugated packaging.
We are looking forwards to 2004 to expand our global activities in this area." Four key executives have been appointed to the company's various operating units to take responsibility for driving the display and packaging business and support Scitex's growing customer base.
Jean-Marc Blum, previously corporate vice president of marketing, has been appointed corporate vice president for strategic business - packaging and textiles.
In Scitex Vision Europe, Ronen Zioni has been appointed European sales director for packaging and displays while in Scitex Vision Asia Pacific, Martin Wong has been appointed packaging marketing director.
Finally, Errol Doris Sr.
has been appointed general manager of the packaging solutions division, in Scitex Vision America.
In each region, a team of trained engineers, sales, and application personnel has been specifically set-up to support them.
Additionally, there are three demonstration suites in the USA, Europe and Israel.
Halevy commented: "We are demonstrating our commitment to the packaging and display markets by establishing a dedicated, worldwide team of experts, lead by Jean-Marc Blum, to serve this sector".
He said the company was perfectly placed to take a leading position in those markets through its product portfolio, which has been specifically developed to meet the needs of customers in the packaging and display markets.
First and foremost with the Corjet press, said to be the only industrial digital printing press for short run packaging and POS displays in the marketplace.
The Corjet can be complemented by Scitex Vision's Veejet flatbed printer, which, with its range of UV inks, is claimed to have the ability to print on a wide variety of rigid substrates, while the Superjet roll-to-roll wide format machine is well suited for specific flexible packaging applications, such as open flute.
Jean-Marc Blum noted: "Corrugated board printers are realising that conventional corrugated printing is struggling to meet the demands of modern marketing in terms of time to market, speciality applications and targeted campaigns.
Our solution to this problem is the Corjet press, a complete digital production system from front end to delivery." With a fast growing number of installations worldwide, Corjet was allowing customers in the packaging sector not only to produce short-run packaging, but also to expand into the high margin, fast growing display and short run POS market.
Some customers had already installed multiple Corjets due to increased demand for the high-quality products it is able to produce, he added.
