The new software which, in addition to the existing language versions, now also comes in Danish and Thai, is available on the web for download from SCP.

There are two new DaylightRIP product lines.

DaylightRIP Simple Queue is claimed to offer a RIP server with one single print queue.

The company described it as the logical step between stand-alone software and full client-server packages.

DaylightRIP Open Server is said to allow an interface with DaylightRIP from other software products, such as plot management products.

SCP has added the option to adjust the printer's grey balance and, thereby, linearise the RIP process, leading to print quality enhancement especially on third-party media claimed the company.

In addition, it is claimed that the general procedure of printer installation and calibration has been simplified further to the effect that even users with limited or no graphics experience may comfortably work with DaylightRIP.

Different priorities and start times may be assigned to RIP queues.

Also, print jobs may be prioritised manually.

For workflow enhancement DaylightRIP is said to store files in the RIP server itself, so that they need not be submitted to the server when the user wants to reprint them added the company.

DaylightRIP 4.0 has buttons for 'apply filtering' and soft proofing to check the look of the eventual print.

Additionally the gamut warning function highlights colours beyond the printer's gamut.

DaylightRIP 4.0 also has a raster editor, where the user can edit both raster and vector files and save them in various raster file formats.

The raster editor also offers mono despeckling and hole-filling said SCP.

DaylightRIP offers new printer drivers for Seiko Colorpainter 64S, HP Designjet 4000, Xerox 8142/60 and Kyocera Mita KM-4850, P4850 and P4845.

SCP said that the upgrade to version 4.0 is chargeable and requires a new keycode.
