Flexo Press Prints 13-Colour Jobs At Exhibition

A Schiavi Spa product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Jun 27, 2007

Bobst Group Flexible Materials company Schiavi enjoyed success at the CMM International 2007 exhibition with its EF 5060 C I flexo press.

Schiavi said that visitors saw flexo printing demonstration, which featured nine-colour and 13-colour jobs printed at a speed of 400 metres per minute with automatic reel splicing at high speed and complete job changeovers.

The EF 5060 press at the show, presently on its way to Canada to be installed in Belle-Pack Packaging's production plant in Markham, incorporated productivity-enhancing ancillary equipment, including Schiavi's insetting function for in-register 10 + 10 colour printing and special applications coating.

It also featured the new Registron integrated KCR 300 automatic impression setting system.

Schiavi said a deal was negotiated and closed by Rotomec for the sale of an MW 80 gravure printing press to Amgraph Packaging, said to be one of the largest flexo offset converting companies in the USA.

The company added that the MW 80's strengths for medium-web, short-run production of flexible packaging materials, were factors in that success.

Rotomec's MW press was launched in June 2006 and its design concept is said to minimise waste in gravure printing, whilst reducing material wastage, energy consumption, downtime, manpower and space requirements.
