Global Launch For Vegatable Oil Based Ink
Sun Chemical has launched a process ink range called World Series that is designed to improve productivity in sheetfed offset printing.
Sun Chemical has launched a process ink range called World Series that is designed to improve productivity in sheetfed offset printing.
It is the first time Sun Chemical has launched ink simultaneously around the world.
The inks are based on vegetable oils and are 100 per cent mineral oil-free claimed the company.
They can be paired with specially designed fountain solutions and coatings available from Sun Chemical to further enhance its performance.
"Printers have told us that they've been unable to find a set of sheetfed inks that can run on virtually all sheetfed presses and produce excellent results on most applications," said John Adkin, sheetfed product director at Sun Chemical Europe.
Adkin added that World Series inks offer excellent lithographic performance on large format and small format four-colour presses - including perfecting machines.
The inks can be used on a wide variety of substrates including coated papers and boards used in commercial, publication and folding carton printing.
"The formulations are based on the latest technology, and the inks are designed to meet all four-color needs.
Initial reaction from the world's largest press manufacturers to the launch of World Series has been very favourable.
This reaction is based on the recognised need for new, higher-quality standardization in the sheetfed process printing sector," said Dr Bernhard Fritz, product manager at Sun Chemical Europe.
World Series marks the first time Sun Chemical has rolled out an ink product on a global basis, according to Brad Bergey, president of Kohl and Madden, Sun Chemical's sheetfed inks division in North America.
"We are very excited to concurrently launch World Series in Europe and North America.
Now, multinational printers can expect similar results on materials printed in multiple locations because they are using the same inks." Adkin said the new inks would help printers manage their inventories and increase press up time by reducing the need for many ink formulations.
