Sun Chemical has acquired 100% of the shares of Rycoline Incorporated.

Sun Chemical has acquired 100% of the shares of Rycoline Incorporated.

The company said that the acquisition is a further step in its strategy to provide 'total solutions' for the printing industry, according to Wes Lucas, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Sun Chemical.

"The addition of Rycoline's product lines enhances our position as an industry leader, bringing the best technology to our customers around the world.

It also demonstrates our strategic direction through our commitment to creating value for the customer by optimising the combined performance of the ink, founts, blankets and wash for superior printing efficiency." The Rycoline Incorporated Group of Companies produces a range of well-known products under the Rycoline, Sun Graphic and Rogersol brands.

It includes a complete line of fountain solutions, blanket and roller washes, silicone and silicone replacement products, overprint coatings, printing blankets and a complete line of miscellaneous products from aerosols to anti static products.

Rycoline's headquarters are in Chicago (USA) and it has production facilities in Chicago, Clifton, Atlanta, Adelanto Fort Worth and Pompano Beach.

The group's products are sold worldwide.

In the United Kingdom, Sun Chemical launched its WebXtras consumables division in May 2003.

Its managing director Charles Murray commented: "We are very glad to welcome Rycoline to the Sun Chemical family.

This gives us an opportunity to further extend and strengthen our current extensive range of press consumable products as part of our 'one stop shop' philosophy, particularly in the heatset market." Norm Nichol, Rycoline general manager and now Sun Chemical vice president, said: "We are excited about joining the Sun Chemical family of great brands and delighted that Sun Chemical and WebXtras recognises Rycoline's success in delivering a heatset product line to the UK market that lowers the customer's total cost of ownership.

We look forward to building on that success and delivering a total solution to our customer base." Colin Norgate, WebXtras managing director added: "Our aim is to always offer our customers the best possible technology both in terms of performance and cost effectiveness, all part of our total solution concept.
