Sun's Remote Control Ink Supply For Gravure Site

Sun Chemical has teamed with Polestar to implement a round the clock, computer controlled ink supply programme for the new 25-acre greenfield Polestar gravure printing facility in Sheffield (UK).

Sun Chemical has teamed with Polestar to implement a round the clock, computer controlled ink supply programme for the new 25-acre greenfield Polestar gravure printing facility in Sheffield (UK).

A remote controlled telemetric system is required to ensure Polestar's 3.88mm wide Cerutti rotogravure presses receive Sun Chemical's High Reduction Series publication gravure inks.

Sun Chemical engineers monitor a storage and distribution system straight to the presses via 11 30-tonne tanks and when the plant is in full operation scheduled tanker deliveries will be made to the site six days a week.

Polestar Sheffield has its first 3.88 metre wide Cerutti press running and the second press is currently being installed.

When work at the site is completed Sun Chemical will be supplying ink to the Sheffield site at the rate of one to two full tankers every day.
