Sun's Digital Solvent Ink For Wide Format Presses
A new digital solvent ink and two bulk feed systems designed for use on a range of Seiko Color Painter, Hewlett-Packard and Oce wide-format presses, have been introduced by Sun Chemical Screen.
Sun Chemical Screen launched the Streamline brand of digital ink and bulk feed systems - SCP and SCP Plus, as an alternative to expensive consumables supplied by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), said the company.
And Sun Chemical Screen believes that approximately 2,000 European printers using the Color Painter 64/100, the HP 9000/1000 and the Oce 6060/6100 models could save up to 50 per cent in consumable costs as a direct result of using the company's latest products.
For printers wanting to use the Streamline inks, Sun Chemical Screen has made the process of installing the SCP/SCP Plus bulk feed systems straight forward.
The systems are microchip-driven and can be fitted by a press operator, so there is no need to adjust the printer's firmware.
Once installed, the one-litre ink reservoirs can be topped up on the run, allowing for continuous printing.
Streamline ink products are available for about 70 per cent of digital wide-format presses available today.
Sun Chemical Screen plans to increase that figure in the coming months with further product launches designed to promote value for money and enhanced service levels, it added.
Tony Cox, digital business and marketing manager for Sun Chemical Screen, said: "It is important that printers have more options when buying their inks.
A growing number of companies are looking to migrate to third-party consumables so they can benefit from the economies of scale when buying inks in greater volumes." He continued: "By further extending our range of Streamline digital inks and introducing the two bulk feed systems, we are making ink conversions convenient and lower-risk than ever before.
In addition to reaping the financial benefits of using Streamline inks, which can be up to 50 per cent cheaper than the cost of OEM versions, Sun Chemical Screen customers also will receive an unrivalled level of support from the world's largest producer of inks and pigments, with the security of dealing with a trusted, long-term supplier to the global graphic arts industry.".
