New Leader Lenz Focuses Sun Chemical's
Efforts
Rudi Lenz is the new chief executive officer and president of Sun Chemcial to succeed Dr David Hill, who announced his retirement late last year.
Lenz was Sun Chemical's senior vice president and chief financial officer, serving on the board, since 2002 Before joining Sun Chemical Lenz was president and chief executive officer of Fairchild Aircraft, a division of Fairchild Dornier Corporation in Texas (USA) during which time the company increased revenues, improved overall customer satisfaction and increased income

Lenz began his career in accounting and tax with the German Internal Revenue Service in 1976.
In 1980, he joined Garrett Corporation as an accounting manager in Frankfurt (Germany) and he was promoted to controller and promoted through a series of financial and accounting positions to become chief financial officer of Garrett .
Following the acquisitions that formed Allied Signal Corporation, he became the chief financial officer for Allied Signal Germany's aerospace, automotive, speciality chemicals, plastics and engineered materials businesses.
He was also promoted to become vice president of finance for aerospace services at Allied Signal.
In 1997, Lenz joined Fairchild Dornier Corporation as executive vice president and chief financial officer, where he is said to have improved the company's financial management capabilities and was instrumental in the integration of Fairchild and Dornier.
He was promoted to president and chief executive officer of Fairchild Aircraft in 2001 and resigned in 2002 to join Sun Chemical.
Lenz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and taxes from the University of Edenkoben and a master's degree in business and administration from the University of Wiesbaden.
Dr Koji Oe, president of Dainippon Ink and Chemicals in Japan, Sun Chemical's parent company, commented: "Lenz assumes the CEO and president role at an important time for Sun Chemical and I have every confidence that he will lead Sun to even greater success despite very challenging times in the industry globally."
