Datalase has expanded its UK headquarters in Widnes, Cheshire.

Datalase has expanded its UK headquarters in Widnes, Cheshire The investment in the facility is said by the company to reflect its commitment to growth and to the launch of a a new product portfolio during this year

The growth of the company is the result of Datalase's success with its Datalase process that uses a combination of colour change chemistry and low power laser light for a range of applications, said the company.

The expanded Widnes facility features new research and development and physics laboratories, which have been fully equipped to enable future product developments.

The redesigned facility now features a customer meeting area, as well as a dedicated customer demonstration laboratory.

In addition, the Widnes facility houses a new sales office.

Datalase said that it has developed a number of commercial applications utilising its process and it claimed that it is now poised to launch new integrated techniques.

The company plans to launch complete systems for a range of product identification applications, including label replacement and on-product marking.

Steve Kelly, Datalase's chief executive officer, explained: "With the expansion of our UK facility, we are now fully prepared to proceed with the launch of our innovative integrated systems and also take advantage of new and exciting opportunities in the future.
