Datalase has formed a collaboration with XSYS where the latter company will be marketing a complete range of inks produced using Datalase's patented, award-winning Datalase process The non-exclusive license agreement will enable XSYS to develop the Datalase Packmark system and distribute it to its global network of subsidiaries and distributors

Based in Stuttgart (Germany) and created by the merger of the German BASF Printing Systems and the Swedish ANI Printing Inks, the XSYS Print Solutions Group is one of the world's largest ink manufacturers.

The company develops, produces and markets narrow web, printing plates, packaging inks, publication inks, sheet-fed inks and pigments and resin.

The XSYS Group has 65 fully owned subsidiaries in 30 countries and a network of distributors covering a further 50 countries.

The new agreement will be equally beneficial for the two collaborating parties believes Datalase, combining Datalase's expertise in laser responsive colour change chemistry and XSYS's established experience as a global manufacturer in the printing systems and inks markets.

Steve Kelly, the chief executive officer of Datalase commented: "This is a very exciting collaboration for both parties.

By combining XSYS's outstanding position in the market with our unique Packmark we will be able to offer our innovative process to an extremely wide audience." Packmark is a patent-pending, coding and marking system for applying on-demand variable information to primary packaging materials.

Packmark uses the Datalase process that features an additive or coating that changes colour when exposed to a low-power CO2 laser.

Due to the claimed stability of the image produced, the system, which has a range of applications relating to coding, marking and tracking and tracing, provides protection for brand integrity. Request a free brochure from DataLase ...
