Datalase will be unveiling its latest addition to the Datalase product line at Total Packaging 2007.

The new applicator for the Datalase Casemark Tape is the first piece of hardware to be made available as part of the Datalase suite of products.

The applicator will be demonstrated alongside other Datalase products on stand 4231 at the UK's NEC in Birmingham from May 15 - 18.

The Casemark Tape applicator has been developed to apply the unique Datalase Casemark Tape directly on to secondary packaging, such as corrugate shipping crates.

The new applicator is claimed to enable packers and manufacturers to apply Casemark Tape to outer case packaging, on the final production line.

With the new applicator for Casemark Tape it is now possible for the packer or manufacturer to decide where on the corrugate box the variable information (such as bar codes) is required and the tape is then applied directly on to the packaging.

Steve Kelly, chief executive officer of Datalase, said: "With the new applicator, packagers and manufacturers have the flexibility to harness the unique benefits of the Datalase process.

As a company we are keen to offer our customers a whole range of print and packaging systems and products and the Casemark Tape applicator is the latest addition to our award-winning suite of products." Casemark Tape was unveiled at Pack Expo 2006 as an alternative to the Datalase Casemark pre-print system.

With Casemark, Datalase said that the corrugate packaging is supplied to the packer, or manufacturer by the converter, pre-coated with the Datalase Casemark ink.

Casemark Tape contains the Datalase ink which, when exposed to a low power CO2 laser, changes from white to black, producing a positive image.

Also to be exhibited on stand 4231 will be the company's Casemark label replacement system, as well as Packmark for applying high speed, on-demand variable information to primary packaging materials, said Datalase.
