Verifiable, Customised Barcodes Cut Costs

Datalase's Casemark Flexo system will be on show on stand S-5251 at Pack Expo to provide what is claimed to be the flexibility of customisation with the cost savings of mass production.

Casemark Flexo is said to be the only system capable of providing a consistently verifiable barcode on-line and direct-to-carton.

The system, according to Datalase, provides the flexibility to apply barcodes and variable information, as well as other customised information that has been traditionally pre-printed by the corrugated box supplier.

The Datalase method is claimed to enhance production line efficiency for converters and users, with change-over time and small order fees reduced.

Also present on the Datalase stand at Pack Expo, which will run from October 15 - 17, will be the company's Packmark coding system used for applying variable information to primary packaging materials.

The company said that with Packmark, the Datalase chemistry is applied to the packaging and when activated with a CO2 laser, a positive image appears.

Due to the claimed stability of the image produced, the system, which has a range of coding, marking and tracking, and tracing applications provides protection for brand integrity.

Kevin Murray, vice president and general manager at Datalase, commented: "We are looking forward to introducing our mass customisation systems to the US market.

Pack Expo is the ideal opportunity to speak to customers about our wide product range and we are sure that it will be a successful show.".
