Bezier Beats The Rest To Retain ASDA Account
Retail media producer Bezier, has retained the prestigious point of purchase (POP) account for one of Britain's leading retailers, ASDA.
Developments included investment in new technology to maximise recycling opportunities and minimise waste, together with changes to recycling methods, which saw the amount of waste going to landfill sites reduce by 62.5 per cent.
There has also been major investment in staff training to ensure that the staff is bought in to the environmental philosophy.
In addition, all of the products produced by Statex are recyclable and the company endeavours to use Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) products where possible.
Sue Charlton, Statex's finance director, commented: "At Statex we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously.
The new systems that we have introduced have not only benefited the environment but have also helped us to reduce costs.
For example, the cost of waste going to landfill has reduced from GBP2000 per month to GBP250 per month." She added: "In addition to investing in new equipment and technology we have also been working closely with suppliers and the organisations who deal with our waste products who have all been extremely supportive of the initiative." Investment in new systems and technology is one thing, she commented, but as it is the staff that is responsible for implementing recycling procedures it is vital that all the company's employees are supportive of the initiative.
Charlton explained: "Like recycling at home, the project can only be successful if people are prepared to fully adopt the new procedures.
Consequently we have spent a significant amount of time and resources on training the workforce so that they understand the reasons behind the initiative and buy in to the culture of the organisation, which is committed to adopting an environmentally conscious approach to its business operations.".
