From Van Driver To Print Room Manager

Former van driver, Paul Treanor, has been promoted to a key managerial position within north east UK printing company, Statexcolourprint.

Former van driver, Paul Treanor, has been promoted to a key managerial position within north east UK printing company, Statexcolourprint.

Treanor joined Statex 11 years ago as a van driver and moved in to the role of printing press operator, where he began a personal training development programme.

More recently, he has played a role operating the company's newest press investment, a Heidelberg Speedmaster CD74 10 colour perfector, which is one of the first of its kind in the country.

Now Treanor's career path has taken a new turn as he has been appointed as print room manager, responsible for 23 members of staff.

"I joined Statex when it was just a very small operation with six members of staff and slowly worked my way along a well structured career path.

There is a real team spirit here and good opportunities for promotion," Treaonor commented.

He added: "I have always had aspirations to become a printer, but I never expected to reach the position I'm in now.

I think it's all down to hard work along with the support and encouragement that I've received from the people around me." Graham Minett, managing director at Statex, said: "At Statex we are committed to the training and development of our staff.

Paul is an extremely dedicated and hardworking member of the team.

He has taken full advantage of the opportunities available to him to develop within the company both professionally and personally.

We are thrilled that he has accepted the new role of print room manager, where his knowledge and experience of the company will prove to be a real asset." Statexcolourprint was set up in 1994 and over the past three years it has invested more than GBP3m in the business.
