Shortcut Software International has released the new PhotozoomPro2, S-Spline XL, including an improved re-designed algorithm (named S-Spline XL).

The new technology is claimed to result in higher output to surpass even the previous version 1 of the product.

Photo enlargements are possible with the patented in-house developed Shortcut S-Spline XL technology - a self-adjusting, interpolation method, which is said to allow enlargements up to any size without any loss of quality.

Shortcut Sofware said that quality loss caused by digital image magnification is a very common problem.

PhotozoomPro2 is able to render true to life image magnifications, without the serrated edges and the software is said to be suitable for image magnification in DTP and large format printing.

With the previous version, PhotozoomPro 1, which also contained the patented S-Spline Technology, Shortcut won a number of international awards (including Cebit America Award) The additional new features of PhotozoomPro2 include a modified user interface, which supports 48 bit and 64 bit images, with cropping and rotating, as well as improved batch conversion, mirror and flip functions.

The software also supports IPTC, EXIF and ICC profiles.

At the same time, the new software is also said to provide enlargement processing that is 40 per cent faster than the previous version.

Shortcut Software said that Canon has been successfully bundling the PhotozoomPro 1 with the Canon large format printers, since its users demand optimal zooming and enlargement capability for digital images.

Shortcut PhotozoomPro2 is said to be suitable for both Windows and Macintosh O/S as a stand-alone application and Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Elements and Corel Paint Shop Pro and Paint compatible export plug-ins are available in 15 different languages.
