The UK market is one of the most important in the world to Siasprint, according to Giuseppe Butti, managing director of the Italian manufacturer.

The UK market is one of the most important in the world to Siasprint, according to Giuseppe Butti, managing director of the Italian manufacturer.

Which is why a new Anglo-Italian company has just been formed to promote Siasprint's range of screen-printing machines, drying and curing units and accessories throughout the UK.

According to the directors, however, the new company is unusual in the marketplace as it is a joint venture between the manufacturer and the distributor.

Such an arrangement, where both parties are more interested in generating overall sales than squeezing the other's profit margins, will undoubtedly create the keenest prices in the industry, they claimed.

An in-depth knowledge of the UK industry and first-rate customer service are also key - which is why Butti has joined forces with two highly respected figures in the British screen-printing scene.

They are Paul Waterton and Jeff Turley, directors of Registerprint, and also of Vision Supplies, the supplier of Chim Screen Cleaning products and other consumables.

Having spent virtually all their working lives in the screen-printing industry, Turley and Waterton believe they have extensive knowledge of customer requirements, market trends and issues, legislation, ever shortening lead times and all the other pressures which face screen printers today.

Butti commented: "Paul and Jeff definitely have the right market knowledge to make Siasprint K a real success." Another addition to the Siasprint UK team is Chris Mabbott, who is responsible for technical sales.

Explained Waterton: "Siasprint UK operates in a completely different way to other manufacturer and distributor partnerships.

The directors are dedicated to providing the customer with the best possible machine at the best possible price as it is in everyone's interests to do so." The arrangement also means there are no 'middle men', so if any service problems arise, they will be dealt with immediately, he added.

Siasprint claims that its range of presses, dryers and curing units is the widest on the market.

Developed as a result of in-depth research into customer requirements, it caters for the graphics, textiles and glass printing industries.

Specific applications include POS, displays, indoor and outdoor signage, graphics, metal decorating, overlays, membrane switches, aviation, touch panels, instrumentation clusters and other automotive components, textiles, footwear and packaging.

Many Siasprint customers have won awards for the quality and appearance of their work, said Butti.

Siasprint UK is offering the complete range of semi automatic and fully automatic Siasprint presses, including the latest flagship, the new multicolour Multiformula.

Established in Milan over 50 years ago, Siasprint claims it was the first in the industry to develop the concept of a multicolour line.

Since then, it has set up branches in a number of key markets ranging from Canada to Spain.

In order to capitalise on new business opportunities all over the world, Siasprint has recently undergone a complete reorganisation.

Last October Siasprint USA was formed and the offices in Germany were restructured in order to cater for demand from central and eastern Europe.

New investments have also been made in one of the major manufacturing centres in China, which will enable the company to cater for growing demand from the Far East.

The customer services team in the global headquarters in Milan has been strengthened as well.

Siasprint's web site also now contains full details and specifications of virtually every item in the range.

Siasprint UK is based in Leeds.

Registerprint will carry out all after-sales servicing, maintenance and repair work.

Commented Jeff Turley: "Last year we decided to concentrate on our key growth area - on-going customer care.

Our team of mobile engineers has, over the years, developed unrivalled expertise in all aspects of machine maintenance and repairs, as well as building a reputation for prompt and helpful service.

We have now commenced training with Siasprint Italy and I am confident that our engineers will prove to be a real asset to Siasprint UK and its customers." Added Giuseppe Butti: "The relationship with Registerprint will enable our new company to provide customers with the best possible support, which is absolutely crucial to us in the key UK market." And Waterton added: "I believe that the partnership we've formed between manufacturers and distributors is something completely new in this industry.

As such, we should be able to offer our customers something unique as well: not only some of the best screen-printing machinery on the market but also the most competitive prices.

And of course, everything is backed up by Registerprint's after sales service, which Jeff and I have been honing for so many years.".
