Polkadots Software Inc, a pre-press workflow developer specialising in database driven workflow automation for the Harlequin RIP has released the latest version of Rasterize-it 6.4.

Polkadots Software Inc, a pre-press workflow developer specialising in database driven workflow automation for the Harlequin RIP has released the latest version of Rasterize-it 6.4.

Rasterize-it 6.4, Polkadots' OEM version of Harlequin RIP is now said to offer 'try-before-you-buy', the ability to try any RIP option free for a limited period but without any limit to functions or performance, said Polkadots' UK distributor, Silicon Crag.

Also available in the new version is the optional JDF module supporting JDF 1.2 and the ability to communicate with other JDF aware applications, added the company.

"Many clients ask about RIP options such as Trap Pro or HDS and want to be able to evaluate if the option is right for their specific requirements.

With the ability to enable RIP options for a limited trial period, our customers can be certain that they are getting the features that are right for them without any unnecessary expenses," said Robert Dumas of Polkadots.

When Rasterize-it 6.4 is part of a Prepage-it workflow users will also have the option to automatically create impositions based on JDF templates saved from third-party applications, as well as accepting JDF imposition data of manually imposed Prepage-it files, added the company.

The Prepage-it workflow is a plug and play, database driven product that is built on Global Graphics' Harlequin RIP technology.

Prepage-it is said to allow users to print from any popular Macintosh or Windows applications and RIP pages up-front, saving time and detecting potential problems early in the process.

It includes compression, automation, proofing, organisation and imposition functions.
