Polkadots Software the pre-press workflow software developer has released Rasterize-it 7.1, based on Global Graphics' Harlequin Scriptworks RIP.

Rasterize-it 7.1 features font emulation, in-RIP imposition, JDF 1.2 support and PDF 1.5, PDF/X-1a:2003 support, as well as for PDF/X-3:2003.

It is available in the UK from Sillicon Crag.

Enhancements provided with the 7.1 release include the synchronous input and output of small files, and asynchronous input and output of large files, which means that all files are processed at maximum throughput, it is claimed.

Improved memory management in Trap Pro is claimed to accelerate processing times, whilst it includes support for four-up type imposition schemes.

Sylvain Audet of Polkadots Software, said: "This latest release of Rasterize-it offers even more speed advantages over the previous 7.0 release, thanks to improved memory management, as well as overall improvements in file handling.

All Prepage-it v5 users will notice the speed of the new RIP integration but those who also use Trap Pro will benefit from fixes and an obvious performance boost." Rasterize-it 7.1 has been fully integrated within the Prepage-it workflow software.
