Send-it, which is now available from Silicon crag, controls PDF creation at the customer site and fully integrates soft-proofing and pre-flighting upstream with the customer The software is claimed to lock down the PDF creation options forcing PDF creation that complies with the pre-press department's requirements, eliminating wasted time spent on errors, such as missing fonts or images at the printer's site

Silicon Crag said that Send-it creates PDF, performs pre-flighting and then encrypts and transmits the PDF securely to the print provider or pre-press production centre.

It then allows the customers to see their files after they have been pre-RIPped, guaranteeing that the proof will match the output.

Send-it's secure file delivery feature allows print providers and pre-press production centres to develop and maintain a close bond and lasting relationship with their customers, added the company.

It is claimed that the software can be customised and pre-configured to enable print providers and pre-press centres to offer higher value, targeted services to their customers.
