Silicon Systems is to hold two UK seminars on the benefits of adopting a PDF Workflow.

The seminars will look at emerging dedicated PDF server technologies including PDF Accelerator, and will consider the ways in which PDF workflows can be integrated with existing working practices to increase productivity and reduce room for error.

The first seminar is to be held on April 13 at the Hilton Hotel, Green Park in London and the second at the Royal Hotel, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire on May 4.

Both events will follow the same agenda, discussing the issues surrounding PDF as it journeys through the workflow from PDF delivery and creation to pre-flighting and quick editing.

New ways of using PDF to control the approval process and the latest technology for removing burden from the desktop will be unveiled and attendees will have the chance to discuss their individual concerns with system experts.

PDF Accelerator is claimed to be the first dedicated PDF server.

It removes the burden of PDF generation from existing systems and provides a centralised PDF hub accessible to all users.

By separating PDF generation from other applications, Silicon Systems said that desktop systems are no longer hindered by the memory intensive processes usually associated with PDF creation, leading to significantly reduced generation times and superior desktop productivity.

It is said to provide centralised control of PDF settings ensuring consistent and precise production time after time with unlimited capacity for customised output.

All PDFs are produced to Adobe's published PDF standards and can be read and edited using all standard PDF applications.

Anyone interested in attending should visit the Silicon Systems website where they will find further information and be able to register for the seminar of their choice.
