St Ives Peterborough is to install a new Ferag high speed stitching system.

St Ives Peterborough is to install a new Ferag high speed stitching system.

The system, which was announced at Drupa, will be installed and running later this year.

The factory mainly specialises in high volume, time-sensitive, weekly stitched products, and the Ferag system will ensure that customers' future requirements will continue to be met said the company.

Commenting on the investment, David Emeny, managing director of St Ives Web Division, said: "As part of an overall re-investment programme we recognise the importance of finding good post press solutions to meet our customers' increasing demands in terms of schedule, pagination, loose inserting and tip-on facilities.

This high performance machine will enable us to meet those requirements, including the facility for up to 10 loose inserts, for customers who seek more added value benefits in their products, and will provide the bindery outputs demanded from new generation web offset presses.".
