UK Financial printer St Ives Burrups, a division of St Ives plc, has been renamed St Ives Financial.

UK Financial printer St Ives Burrups, a division of St Ives plc, has been renamed St Ives Financial.

With a history dating back to 1628, St Ives Burrups believes it is one of a few global printers who are active within all the leading financial markets.

Andrew Langdale, the divisional managing director of St Ives Financial, commented: "After 377 years, we thought it was time for a change! We have increasingly found that our customers are seeking a wider range of services, often involving our sister companies within the St Ives group.

In line with that it made sense for us to focus on the St Ives name, with its high degree of recognition as one of the UK's largest and most successful print groups." The name change also coincides with the launch of the new Smartapps range of software-based document management systems, built around Smartstore technology, which is claimed to take St Ives Financial in to completely new pre-press and production areas, said the company.

Smartapps is the umbrella name for a range of on-line software applications that automate many of the traditional processes associated with document creation.

The automation of those processes delivers enhanced speed, limits the resources required and reduces traditional costs, claimed the company.

Included in that range are Smartdocs, an on-line template-driven document creation and management system, Smartforum, an online collaboration management system and Smartedgar, an automated conversion system for SEC filings.

St Ives said that increasingly, its strategy of for the financial division involved the complete automation of financial document production using the latest web-enabled technology.

It believes that its strategy reflected the needs of today's global markets, where customer requirements for fast turn-around meant that St Ives' teams work around the clock across three continents.
