The Duke of York has visited one of the UK's independent security printers, Smith and Ouzman, in his capacity as Special Representative for International Trade and Investment.

The Duke of York has visited one of the UK's independent security printers, Smith and Ouzman, in his capacity as Special Representative for International Trade and Investment Smith and Ouzman managing director Chris Smith greeted The Duke of York, whose party toured the 25,000 square foot Eastbourne factory, meeting various members of staff in their day-to-day roles, including people in the worldwide sales office, design processing department, printing factory and finishing department

His Royal Highness was also introduced to some of Smith and Ouzman's overseas customers and agents who had travelled especially for the occasion - Rev.

John Adotey, head of the West African Examination Council and sales agent Captain Bill Amarteifio, travelled from Ghana, whilst sakes agent Waleed Ali travelled from Kuwait.

In 2000, Smith and Ouzman was awarded the Queen's Award for Export Achievement in recognition of significant increases of trade for specialist security printing of personalised ballots, electoral forms and certificates that are largely exported to different countries in Africa.

Chris Smith said: "We are naturally, tremendously proud of our family company and our progressive reputation in printing worldwide.

To receive HRH The Duke of York was a great privilege for all our staff." Smith and Ouzman was established in 1946 and specialises in the provision of security and commercial printing to companies and organisations around the world.
