PCM is Holland's biggest newspaper publisher.
The group employs around 3,600 staff and produces 70 titles at two printing sites.
Nearly half the population reads one of the company's titles, which includes De Volkskrant, NRC Handelsblad and regional title Algemeen Dagblad, including Rotterdams Dagblad, Haagse Courant and Utrechts Nieuwsblad.
The company believes that the Rotterdam plant will become one of the most advanced AGV printing houses in Europe.
General manager of the PCM's Rotterdam printing plant, Frans Beun, said: "In our process of choosing the supplier for a new AGV-system that is to replace the current 12 year-old and worn out system, Soft Design came up as the best partner for PCM.
The company impressed us with its innovative designs and based on its experience in the printing industry and knowledge of our site in particular, Soft Design make us feel very confident in a successful implementation of the new system." Soft Design's managing director, Erling Wessberg, commented: "We are proud to be chosen as a PCM partner and we are looking forward to working closely with the PCM's management and engineer staff on this exciting project.".
