Printer Produces The Sun's Tribute Publication
Southernprint has printed a glossy 'bookazine' tribute to mark Peter Seabrook's 30 years as gardening editor of The Sun newspaper in the UK.
They were printed on Southernprint's MAN Roland Lithoman V 64pp press using 80gsm Cyclus Offset stock, which was selected after testing a variety of recycled papers.
Joanne Mitchell, the marketing director at Jeld-Wen UK, said: "We were looking for a paper that combined excellent runability with a top quality finish.
As our products are made from timber, we needed to show the varying grains and hues of the different woods.
Knowing the porous nature of recycled paper we didn't want to compromise on image sharpness or detail, but with the help of the Southernprint team, we found a grade that suited our requirements perfectly." She added that Jeld-Wen's decision to move to a 100 per cent recycled stock was made in support of the company's environmental policy.
"Our success as a world-class company is dependent in part on our responsible environmental stewardship in the production of our products," added Joanne Mitchell.
