Southernprint scores with Chelsea contract
Southernprint awarded contract to print Chelsea Football Club's monthly magazine using paper sourced from forests which meet strict Forest Stewardship Council criteria.
It draws on Seabrook's knowledge and experience with tried and trusted advice, plant recommendations, tips and step-by-step garden tasks.
The publication is described as a 'bookazine' because of its thick glossy cover and month by month guide to a garden's year, said Southernprint.
Colour coded for each season, 'Garden Year' is divided in to monthly sections and features anecdotes and photo galleries from Seabrook's life on The Sun.
It includes ideas for gardens to visit, practical checklists, plant recommendations, garden solutions and features on topics dear to Seabrook's heart.
The bookazine is printed by Southernprint on 90gsm paper with a 275gsm sovereign gloss cover and had an initial print run of 75,000 copies.
'Garden Year' will be promoted across News International's stable of titles and websites and is the first of a number of joint publishing projects under development by News Magazines' publisher Lou McLeod.
McLeod said: "Southernprint was an obvious choice after its impressive work on the one shot earlier this year, called 'New Year New You', from sister magazine title 'Love it!'.
The UK magazine web offset printer is perfectly suited to produce the thick glossy look required for Garden Year.".
