New Substrates Meet Inkjet Print's
Extended Range
Because inkjet printers can now print on an increasing range of materials for more varied applications, Seal Graphics has extended its consumables range with 20 more inkjet substrates.
Seal Graphics said that the materials include new vinyls, papers, polyester fabrics, cotton fabrics and digital wallpapers, as well a claimed environmentally-friendly banner material completely made of corn The new materials are claimed to enable users to create vivid finished products spanning various applications for indoor and outdoor use, from pop-ups to banners and rigid and flexible displays

Seal explained that its new Solvent Corn Banner has an inkjet coating enabling it to offer the same print quality achieved with polyester substrates.
As well as corn inks, it is printable with all current solvent, eco-solvent and UV-curable inks.
Other printable textiles, such as Solvent Cotton Coarse and Cotton Fine, include 100 per cent cotton fabrics in either a heavy or light linen weave to offer fast drying times, a soft touch and brilliant colour reproduction.

Seal Graphics has brought together new literature, warranty certificates, machine presentations, technical data and sample swatches of liquid laminates in a new marketing programme.
SEAL Graphics at Photokina 2006
At this year's Photokina, SEAL Graphics will present no less than ten new printable inkjet media: three water-based and seven solvent-based; as well as the new AquaSEAL 72 UV liquid laminator.
They can also be printed using solvent, eco-solvent and UV-curable inks, said the company.
Seal added that notable amongst the new vinyls and polyester films is Solvent Vinyl Quickmount, an 80micron, monomeric vinyl with a dot-structured adhesive that enables fast, bubble-free appliance to virtually any surface.
Designed for rigid indoor applications, such as exhibition walls, the dot coating of the glue also makes it easy to remove the graphic at the end of its use.
For outdoor use, Seal Graphics' new Solvent Mesh PVC is said to provide durability and stability alongside vibrant colour rendition.
It is suitable for building wraps and banner applications.
Seal added that its Stoplight backing films have been complemented with Solvent Stoplight 400, a new 400micron addition to the family that combines the ulight-blocking properties of Stoplight with a universal coating, making it suitable for all kinds of solvent, eco-solvent and UV-curable inks.
The scratch-resistant and water-resistant polyester provides the rigidity and opacity required for pop-up and flexible indoor displays.
The company's Digital Wallpapers have been designed for wide format digital print applications.
They consist of a white PVC coating on a woven fabric base and can be used with solvent and eco-solvent, as well as UV-curable, inks.
They are also scratch-resistant and come with a NFPA 701 fire rating.
Seal said that the wallpapers are available in four textures - Soft Satin, Crushed Rock, Raw Silk and Venetian Plaster.
All are claimed to be easily applied, requiring no special skills or tools.
For additional protection and longevity in heavily traffic areas, they are also suitable for finishing with liquid lamination using the company's range of Aquaseal coaters and liquid laminates.
