A new printing industry consultant has joined Stork Prints Austria to increase market awareness and sales.

Stork Print, which produces direct laser engraving systems for relief printing and rotary screen-printing have appointed Andrew Gotch who will work Luton (UK) to support the company's international direct engraving activities He will be responsible for a number of regions for Stork Prints, including the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, China, parts of eastern Europe, Turkey, Greece, China and the Australasian area

Gotch was previously international sales manager at Luscher Flexo, where he was said to be instrumental in establishing the company's flexo global distribution network, helping to strengthen Luscher's market share in Europe, Asia and Australasia.

During his 10 years as international sales and marketing director at Creo Products, (now Kodak), he helped transform the company from a little-known Canadian supplier to become an European market leader for CTP systems, within a few years of entering the market, added StorkPrints.

otch was also previously north European sales manager for large-format image-setting manufacturers Orbotech.

Before that, he spent 27 years at Varityper, which at the time manufactured phototypesetting equipment.

Rising through the ranks, Gotch became regional director of the corporation's Varityper division, running dealer operations covering Europe, India, Africa and the Middle East.

Andy Gotch commented: "Stork's laser engraving systems, with their fully digital workflow, have revolutionised pre-press and plate production for the flexo, dry-offset, letterpress, rotary screen and embossing markets.
