Faster Make-Readies For Rotary Screen
Printing
Stork Prints' new RSI-2 to provide claimed faster make-readies on-press for rotary screen printing will be launched at the Drupa 2008 exhibition.
With its modernised design, RSI-2 for rotary screen integration, is said to be able to be integrated in to the architecture, software and mechanics of the latest-generation printing presses RSI-2 can be controlled through the main panel of the press and is said to provide simultaneous, centralised monitoring of all rotary screen positions, alongside other printing and converting operations

Rotary Screen Printing Systems At Labelexpo
The range of new products from Stork Prints that will be on display at Labelexpo Americas will demonstrate the company's rotary screen printing equipment and application support.
Stork Prints said that a greater number of signals can be viewed so that problems are detected almost instantly and remedied in a shorter time than was previously the case.
In addition, the module's button-free touch-panel, with an enlarged interface, allows straight forward and unambiguous menu navigation for access to the desired command.
The unit's outer cover opens outwards and is accessible without physical strain, from ground level, whilst the squeegee hole is widened to give more manoeuvrability during insertion, it is claimed.
Whilst the RSI-2 design will replace the existing modules in Stork's standard RSI range, the unit remains based on the company's rotary screen technology.
The RSI module's applications include markets as diverse as label, packaging, wallcovering, textiles and coating.
They accommodate the Rotamesh pure nickel, electro-formed screen that can be re-engraved.
Stork added that it has partnerships with 30 of the world's press-makers to make rotary screen printing available on new machines and, through bespoke retrofitting programmes, on already operational presses as well.
Modules are available in widths from 10" (254mm) to 40" (1,000mm), in a range of repeat sizes, to accommodate almost all web-fed substrates.
Bert Grootjen, programme manager for graphics at Stork Prints, said: "The RSI-2 is a landmark for rotary screen printing.
It is the first modular unit of its kind to offer complete synchronicity with the printing press, from a software and an engineering perspective. Request a free brochure from Stork Prints ...
It provides the perfect platform for smooth in-line rotary screen printing in multi-process converting operations.".
