Holding a plate in position by hand whilst trying to achieve perfect registration is not perfect and is no longer the only option for printers.

That is according to Tectonic International, which said that its range of patented V5 plate mounting machines with a rise-and-fall 'rotating' plate bed hold the plate firmly in place under the cameras leaving the printers hands free to rotate the plate bed.

When a plate is put on the plate-bed a foot pedal releases a securing bar, which gently falls on to the plate holding it in the printer's chosen position.

His hands are free and so the printer can then use the special adjusters on the right and left hand side of the bed to finely adjust the plate for perfect registration every time.

The Flexico V5 is available in standard sizes of 10", 10"-13", 13"-16" and 16"-20" and can be manufactured to suit several presses of difference sizes from different press manufacturers making the machine a cost effective choice, claimed the company.
