Tectonic Unveils Web Control and Inspection System

Tectonic International chose Labelexpo 2007 to introduce its Luna web control and 100 percent inspection system for printed labels, pharmaceutical products and flexible packaging

Luna comprises is a Bar Graphic Machinery Elite 400i 100 percent Inspection Slitter-rewinder developed specifically to integrate with a 4000 Label HE-G 100 percent inspection system from the 100 percent inspection developer, Vision Experts.

The Bar Graphic's Elite 400i provides a high level of web and tension control.

Features include:.

- Electronically controlled web guidance system and ultrasonic sensor.

- Web width 400mm.

- 2000 linear metre unwind enables operator to achieve minimal set-up times.

- A Variable speed of up to 300m/min provides fast throughput and the pneumatic brake has ultrasonic roll compensation for infinite control.

- The machine is a fully reversible rewinder with electronically controlled rewind with interchangeable mandrels, one supplied with the machine (size as required).

The Vision Experts 4000 Label HE-G (grey-scale) high-resolution 100 percent inspection system is a fully integrated system which when a reel is run from the rewind to the unwind the camera detects, records and displays errors thus producing a totally faultless product.

The system uses a high level grey-scale line scan camera for high resolution print inspection of pharmaceutical or security codes where the highest sensitivity is needed to find very small defects in text (for example missing portions of characters).

A series of high resolution grey-scale and colour cameras are available dependant upon exact customer requirement and level of inspection required.

- When a fault is detected the Elite will stop and present the fault to the inspection table for consideration.

- Any defects can be stored and the history of the run recorded.

- Label and linear count and total and batch count software is included.

- Label in and label out facility on finished roll.

- Fixed master roll splice and adjustable splice table both have dual interlocked web clamps.

- Ergonomically designed touch screen control with full diagnostics provide user friendly control.
