To solve the problem of toner cracking on digital stock at high speeds, Tech-ni-Fold is to launch the Turbo-Creaser, which is claimed to be the world's fastest digital creasing and folding machine.

Tech-ni-Fold said that the Turbo-Creaser also features micro-perforation and cutting accessories to enhance its speed and versatility.

The Turbo-Creaser, which is equipped with the latest rotary Tri-Creaser, will be introduced at the Drupa 20008 exhibition on stand 10 C61 .

The company said that the Turbo-Creaser solves toner cracking issues when digital stock is run at the type of speeds more usually associated with presses, or folding machines.

That means that crease and fold formats can reach a claimed 18,000 copies per hour, which is said to be double the speed recorded by the fastest machine from Tech-ni-Fold's competitors.

Managing Director of Tech-ni-Fold, Graham Harris, said that he had been approached by customers to develop a faster system than the slower methods that were currently on the market.

He added that his decision was made easier when his idea was supported by two finishing manufacturers who agreed to mass produce the machine and also add a folding unit.

At the moment, Tech-ni-Fold said it would not reveal the names of those manufacturers until just before the Turbo-Creaser's launch at Drupa.
